Supported by National Science Committee, Energy Bureau and many industrial companies, we have developed high illumination LED lighting system. The research team includes Ph. D candidates, graduate students and research staffs of the industry about more than 20 people in total. The projects covered high efficiency lighting heat exhaust, manufacturing process of LED lighting module, optical design of lighting fixtures, structure design of lighting fixtures, power saving driving technology, solar lighting technology, LED whole color lighting control technology, street lighting design, outer appearance design. We have applied the unique feature in the world of the low cost loop heat pipe to solve the problem of heat exhaust. We have put in the optical design and driving technology and successfully developed the first 150W LED street lighting in the world with the illumination over 8,800 lm in 2006. The lighting output efficiency of the lighting fixture reached 60 lm/W with the input power of 147W. The total weight of the fixture is 8 Kg and the power saving being more than 50%. This is the world record. In NTU campus, we have installed 6 units of 150W LED lighting fixtures in one 200m road in Feb. 2006 for testing and setting up as a model. This leads the speedy develop of the LED lighting industry in our country.
