In year 2000-2004, New Energy Center of National Taiwan University has carried out the “Technology Advancement Plan of Solar Energy” under the support of 5-year University Energy Center Plan of the Energy Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The plan focuses on the products development, actively training the students to develop the solar energy products by using 3D design drawings, hand-made components, designing and making the products model, outlook design, to do testing and analysis, to publish the articles on the journals and to show the characteristics of collaboration of academy and industry.

    The plan has included three main jobs. Those are : to study the solar energy basic technology, to develop the innovative products, and to provide the technological consulting work for the purpose assist the Energy Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs for the promotion of the application of solar energy.
